NEW SWEDEN – Aroostook County Crime Stoppers says it is looking for information about a series of incidents that occurred near the end of last year.

On Dec. 30, a homemade explosive device apparently blew apart a mailbox in New Sweden. Police said the perpetrator filled a bottle with gunpowder and used a small plastic fuse to detonate it. On the same day, the mailbox of a Stockholm resident was tampered with and the mail inside was burned.

Police responded to similar incidents on Jan. 1 and 2, both in Westmanland.
