The Edward Little of Auburn girls and Mt. Blue of Farmington boys emerged as the overall winners of the Class A Ski championships Thursday at Black Mountain.

The Cougars scored 98 points to outdistance second-place Oxford Hills of South Paris (210). Leavitt of Turner finished third with 287 points, Edward Little of Auburn was fourth (289) and Telstar of Bethel was fifth (360).

The Red Eddie girls edged the Vikings in the girls’ meet, 150-160. Mt. Blue (207), Leavitt (268) and Hampden (412) rounded out the top five.

Alyssa Forrest and Paige Clifton of Hampden were named the girls skimeisters. Leavitt’s Nate Dumais won the boys’ title.

The Mt. Blue boys cruised , grabbed a 40-point lead after the giant slalom. The Cougars won every event in the competition.

They put it away in the 5K Classic Cross Country race, with Ian McPherran, Wes Hines and Matt Dunap going 3-4-5.

On the girls’ side, it was close throughout with the Eddies outscoring the Vikes 27-35 in the final event, the cross country freestyle, to seal the win.

Sarah Gardner paced Edward Little with a third-place finish in the Cross Country Classical event while Mandy Ives took the top spot for Oxford Hills. Cammy Ingram and Laura Damon went 8-9 for the Vikings.
