CARMEL – Army Sgt. Duane W. Walton has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Walton is an attack helicopter mechanic regularly assigned in Illesheim, Germany. He is the son of Duane C. Walton of Carmel and Diane M. Walton of Monson. His wife, Erica, is the daughter of Rick Poole of Bangor and Lois Carter of Glenburn.
