I am deeply concerned about the article, “Sierra Club says Scalia shouldn’t hear case” (BDN, Feb. 24). I agree.

Sounds like a conflict of interest to me, but what is even more disturbing is that Justice Antonin Scalia has said, “There was nothing improper about the trip he took with Cheney.” Really? Then how come they flew to Louisiana on a government jet at taxpayers’ expenses rather than going by commercial airliner or a privately chartered jet paid for by either themselves or the “multimillionaire oil services tycoon” whose camp they stayed at?

Another fleecing of the taxpayer. I hope the Sierra Club looks into this aspect of the trip also.
