Jimmy Howard

University of Maine sophomore goalie Jimmy Howard was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week and the ITECH Goaltender of the Month. It’s Howard’s fourth player of the week award and second goaltender of the month. Howard recorded his fourth shutout of the season against UMass Lowell.

Nick Pelotte

Nike Pelotte from Bingham of Plymouth State University made the All-Little East Conference First Team for men’s basketball. Pelotte leads the conference in scoring (18 ppg) and is fifth in assists (3.6 apg).

Kim Brewer

Junior Kim Brewer of the University of Southern Maine was honored as the Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Week. Brewer placed fifth in the pentathlon with 3,136 points to break her school record by 18 points.

Jen Webster

University of Southern Maine senior forward Jen Webster was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Player of the week. Webster averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in three tournament wins.

Lora Trenkle

Bowdoin College senior guard Lora Trenkle was honored as the Co-Player of the Week by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Trenkle averaged 16 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists to help the Polar Bears to their fourth straight NESCAC Championship.

Kari Simpson

Freshman forward Kari Simpton of the University of Maine at Farmington was named the Rookie of the Week by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and Most Valuable Player of the North Atlantic Conference Tournament. Simpson averaged 17.7 points and 9 rebounds to help the UMF to the NAC title.
