ROCKLAND – A squirrel got into a Central Maine Power Co. substation on Park Street on Monday morning, causing a power failure that affected 94 customers, according to a company spokeswoman.

Rockland Fire Department responded to the outage report, but CMP workers were already at the substation.

The outage affected mostly businesses in the Tillson Avenue area, CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice said.

The power went out at 9:30 a.m. and was restored by 11:45 a.m.
