Key players: Maine – RW Colin Shields (14 goals, 23 assists), C Michel Leveille (5 & 29), LW Todd Jackson (17 & 11), C Derek Damon (11 & 15), D Prestin Ryan (3 & 17), G Frank Doyle (16-4, 1.78 goals-against average, .924 save percentage), G Jimmy Howard (8-3-3, 1.27, .949); BC – RW Tony Voce (24 & 13), C Ryan Shannon (10 & 26), LW Patrick Eaves (14 & 18), C Ben Eaves (6 & 20), D Andrew Alberts (3 & 12), D J.D. Forrest (4 & 10), G Matti Kaltiainen (24-4-4, 1.69, .912)
Outlook: Dynamic Ben Eaves, who hasn’t played since Jan. 9 due to a fracture kneecap, is listed as questionable. The 2002-2003 Hobey Baker Award finalist and Hockey East Co-Player of the Year has 17 points in 13 career games against Maine. Voce has 15 in 13 games. The Bears will need to be physical and outwork the highly skilled Eagles. They can’t turn the puck over in the neutral zone because the Eagles are one of the top transition teams in the country. Maine leads the nation in goals-against average (1.62) and BC is third (1.79). BC leads the nation in penalty-killing percentage (91 percent) and shorthanded goals (11). Maine is second in shorthanded goals (10). BC had a 14-game unbeaten streak (13-0-1) snapped by UNH on Saturday. Maine is 7-1-2 in its last 10 games.
