Three cars were burglarized in Bangor between Thursday night and Friday morning.
A pickup truck parked in a parking garage on Central Street was reportedly burglarized between 7 p.m. Thursday and 5:40 a.m. Friday, according to Bangor police Officer Randall Parsons. The driver’s side window was broken, and a $100 antler-handled knife was reported stolen.
Between midnight and 10 a.m. an unlocked car parked in a First Street lot was broken into, according to Officer Michael Brennan. A $300 CD player and $500 worth of other sound equipment were reported stolen.
Brennan said a car parked in a Columbia Street lot also was burglarized between midnight and 8 a.m. The rear window and dashboard were damaged, and the radio and a backpack were taken. The radio was valued at $200.
There are no known suspects in any of these crimes.
Orono police arrested an Etna man after he allegedly passed out in a stranger’s house early Friday.
At about 2 a.m., Sgt. Gary Duquette and Officer Wilfred King went to a College Avenue address and met a woman waiting outside, according to the police report. The woman told them that when she was in her bedroom, she noticed a man watching her from outside.
The man then came into the residence without permission, the woman said, and asked to use the phone. He made a phone call, then passed out on the floor.
King and Duquette woke the man up. The report said Richard Nickerson, 20, of Etna appeared very intoxicated, and couldn’t walk without help. He was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he was charged with criminal trespassing.
Orono police arrested a Bangor man on an OUI charge early Friday.
Officer Casey Miller reported that at about 1:30 a.m. she saw a car driving at about 50 mph in a 30 mph zone on Park Street. The car nearly hit the curb as it turned onto College Avenue, Miller said, so she pulled it over.
Miller said the driver, Stephen Snell, 23, of Bangor, admitted having two beers. Snell’s speech was slurred, and he smelled of alcohol. Snell also failed sobriety tests, Miller said.
He was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail, and charged with operating while under the influence. Miller said Snell refused a breath test.
