First, Gov. Baldacci opposed the people’s will in trying to overturn a popular vote for a racino in Bangor, now comes Judge Andrew Meade and gives parties, which had no real interest, intervenor status in the Harness Racing Commission’s business.

The tribes and CasinosNo! were all about the casino proposed for southern Maine, but that was voted down, and now they want to spoil the vote for the rest of us.

Baldacci and Meade, the people have voted for a racino in Bangor. Let the Harness Racing Commission do its work.

Next thing we know the tribes and CasinosNo! will be able to tell the Department of Transportation what kind of trucks to buy. It makes as much sense as anything else.
