ROCKLAND – Police expect today to charge a man they believe stabbed another man multiple times during a party Sunday night at 23 Carroll’s Lane.

The names of the victim and the suspect were not being released by police Tuesday, Deputy Chief Wallace Tower said.

The victim, an adult male, was stabbed multiple times with a sharp object, Tower said, but the wounds were superficial and not life-threatening.

The victim did seek medical treatment at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, he said.

Police responded to a fight between the two men at 12:10 a.m., Tower said.

Initially, the victim was uncooperative with police, which slowed the investigation, he said. On Monday, the victim began working with law enforcement.

The incident is under investigation by the detective division.
