In Tom Weber’s column, “Motorists reminded of the law” (BDN column, March 6-7), it sounded as though the police involved in stopping traffic violators were surprised at the large number and wide variety of violations they encountered. If that’s true, then I’m amazed they’re surprised because that sampling is a reasonable measure of the all-day, everyday traffic operations in the Bangor area. The downtown business people were right. It’s a serious problem that needs some serious attention. Not just down there, but area-wide.
