Retired Bangor surgeon Dr. Dennis Shubert has been named to head Dirigo Health’s Maine Quality Forum.
The forum is charged with acting as a “quality watchdog” as Maine develops a statewide network of health care services and facilities under the provisions of Dirigo.
Shubert, a neurosurgeon, is a Bangor native. In addition to his surgical practice, he served as the head of neurological surgery and as the chairman of the surgery department at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He has many professional affiliations, and was recently named to the governing board of Eastern Maine Healthcare.
