BANGOR – The 66th National Folk Festival is now accepting volunteer registrations for this year’s event, Aug. 27-29. More than 900 volunteers are needed to provide services at the festival this year in all areas from setup to vending, parking, and the bucket brigade.
Mary Turner, returning as the volunteer coordinator, advises both returning and new volunteers to return their registration forms early.
As thanks for their contribution to the festival, volunteers receive a festival T-shirt and an invitation to the exclusive Saturday night party held for staff, volunteers and performers only.
Volunteer opportunities exist for individuals, partners and groups. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are interested in volunteering this year, or for information on group volunteering opportunities, call Noelle at 992-2630.
Registration forms must be received by March 26 for early review, or by July 2 for final review. Forms can be downloaded at www.nationalfolkfestival.com under the Volunteer link, or requested by writing to The National Folk Festival, 30 Main St., Suite 220, Bangor, Maine 04401.
