PITTSFIELD – The Town Council will meet Tuesday night to debate a wide range of issues, from selecting new checking account options to appointing a task force to redesign the Mill Pond area.
The meeting, which is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, will be held in the council chambers of the municipal building. The agenda includes:
. Appointing members to the Mill Pond Task Force, charged with coming up with a plan for recreational use of the area.
. Approval to seek bids for checking account services.
. Presentation by Sebasticook Valley Healthy Communities Coalition regarding underage drinking recommendations.
. Adoption of a resolution asking Maine’s governmental leaders to support the National Academy of Science’s report on underage drinking.
. Making an appointment to the theater committee.
. Amending the administrative code to mesh two economic development committees.
. Issuing a quit-claim deed to property on Powers Road.
. Voting on renewing liquor and special amusement licenses for K & D Golf on Hartland Avenue.
. Updates on revitalization of the community center proposal, the airport runway grant, Industrial Park speculation building, a community celebration and business opportunity packages.
