Army Pfc. Lukas Brostek has arrived for duty in Kaiserslautern, Germany, as a wheel vehicle repairman assigned to the 5th Maintenance Company.

A 2003 graduate of Messiah College, he is the son of Judith and Mark Brostek of Fairfield.

Army Pvt. Hugh Beath has arrived for duty at Redstone Arsenal, to complete the ammunition specialist advanced individual training course. A 2003 graduate of Hampden Academy, he is the son of Kristy Jordan of Winterport.

Army Pvt. Daniel MacAlister has arrived for duty a Redstron Arsenal, to complete the explosive ordnance disposal course. A 2003 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Dover-Foxcroft, he is the son of Kevin MacAlister Atkinson.

Army National Guard Pvt. Benjamin Maloney has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill. He is a graduate of Shead High School, Eastport, and is the son of Bernadette and John Maloney of Perry.

Army Pvt. Travis Brooker has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. A 2000 graduate of Bangor High School, he is the son of Lisa and Mike Brooker of Bangor.

Air Force Airman Frances Giacalone has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. A 2003 graduate of Carrabec High School, he is the son of Anita and Martino Giacalone of Embden.
