DEER ISLE – The Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and the Healthy Island Project will once again offer an adult mentor program, thanks to a grant of $5,900 from the Maine Arts Commission. The adult mentor program brings together residents of Deer Isle to work with artists in their studios. Ten artists, all of whom are island residents, will participate this year, leading weekend workshops in April.

This year’s artists include: Anne-Claude Cotty (pinhole photography), Chris Joyce (woodturning), Mary Howe (pop-up cards and books), Vaino Kola (drawing), Frederica Marshall (oriental brush painting), Holley Mead (sewing-applique), Julie Morringello (wood furniture), Farrell Ruppert (blacksmithing), Doug Wilson (blacksmithing), and J. Fred Woell (jewelry).
