HAMPDEN – An 8-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by her mother Monday morning, and might have been taken out of the state, according to police.

Hampden police Sgt. Dan Stewart and Officer Ruth Duquette said the girl, Hailey Nicole Kelly, was picked up by her mother at the Weatherbee School in Hampden. Judith Marie Flournoy, also known as Judith Kelly, 33, left a message with Hailey’s father, who has custody of the child, saying she had Hailey and that they were headed to an airport to leave the state, according to police.

Police say Flournoy might be headed to the Orange, Texas, area. The Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office has authorized a complaint of criminal restraint by a parent.

Anybody with information about this possible abduction should call the Hampden Police Department at 862-4000.
