Cheers!

Bangor Wine and Cheese will hold its monthly wine tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. If you’d like something with a little more kick, head next door to Caf? Nouveau, which recently added a full bar, for a cosmo or martini. For information, call the caf? at 942-3336 or the wine shop at 942-3338.

C’est bon

Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro will celebrate the arrival of spring with a French wine dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 28. Jeff Cole of Classic Wine Imports will join chef Rich Hanson for an evening of Parisian and Provencal pairings. The highlight of the five-course, six-wine meal is a Provencal Beef Daub (a beef stew) paired with two Rhone wines: Guigal Gigondas 2000 and Domaine de la Cote de L’Ange Chateauneuf de Pape 1999. The meal costs $60 per person, not including tax and gratuity. For reservations, which are recommended, call 664-7554.

Berry sweet

It will be a few months before you can enjoy fresh Maine blueberries, but Lee and Everett Worcester’s Wild Blueberry jam, jelly and syrup will make the wait a little easier – and they’ll add a taste of summer to your toast, pancakes, waffles or ice cream. For information, call (800) 464-5263.
