BANGOR – Dr. Clifford Rosen, medical director of St. Joseph Hospital’s Maine Center for Osteoporosis Research and Education, is seeking female participants for a clinical research trial on osteopenia, the beginning of osteoporosis.

Qualifying subjects must be postmenopausal, ages 45-70, not have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, not currently taking medication for osteoporosis and not have suffered any fractures since menopause. Each participant will receive free medical testing, including bone density tests, daily calcium and vitamin D supplements, and study medication. Women interested in taking part in the research trial should call the osteoporosis center at 262-1174.
