Shaw Gallery to host Mount Desert Open

MOUNT DESERT – Shaw Gallery in Northeast Harbor will host the fourth annual Mount Desert Open, a painting and fine art exposition for local residents to show their work in a gallery setting.

Last year’s Mount Desert Open successfully exhibited 46 pieces from MDI residents, including professional artists, students and amateurs, with works ranging in style from exploratory to realistic, from watercolor to weaving.

This year’s show will have an opening reception on Thursday, May 20, and will run through June 16. Any resident of Mount Desert Island, or anyone with a close association to MDI, is welcome to exhibit. There is no jury process, but work must be matted, framed or presented in a professional manner.
