BAR HARBOR – Ian Mohler, a third-year student at College of the Atlantic, has received a grant from the Maine Space Grant Consortium to figure out a mathematical problem that is posed in two dimensions.

Mohler will work with mathematics professor David Feldman on looking into patterns that move forward in space as well as up and down.

This is the first time a College of the Atlantic student has received a grant from the consortium, which is funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Mohler is originally from Sacramento, Calif.
