Localizing a national phenomenon, a Bangor personality is creating her own brand of reality radio.

Cindy Michaels, program director and midday show host on WWBX (97.1 FM), has started a local version of the ABC TV hit “The Bachelorette.” On her show, Michaels is seeking “The Mighty, Mighty Good Man.” Her listeners are along for the ride as they hear interviews of potential qualifiers, then go on virtual dates with Michaels and her suitors.

The dates will take place April 5-May 28 at area businesses and be broadcast live. Listeners will get to vote on which one should be the winner.

Men interested in participating should log on to www.B97hits.com and fill out the questionnaire at the site. They should also send a photo by e-mail to CindyMichaels@clearchannel.com or by mail to Bangors’ Bachelorette, Clear Channel Radio, 184 Target Industrial Circle, Bangor 04401. Entries must be received by April 1.

Local businesses are provided clothing to be worn by Michaels on her interviews and dates and hair salons will be styling her hair as well. Sponsorships remain available for date locations, and any interested businesses should call the sales department at Clear Channel Radio Bangor at 947-9100.
