Horror writers Stephen King (photo) and Stewart O’Nan are collaborating on a book about a sometimes frightening mutual passion: the Boston Red Sox, who haven’t won a World Series since 1918. The two authors will attend Red Sox games throughout the year, diaries in hand. Their notes will be compiled and then published in a hardcover edition, by Scribner, at the end of the year. “I just got back from spring training, and the guys are ready. I’m ready. Everyone’s ready,” O’Nan said in a recent statement. “This is the year. It’s do-or-die time”
