AUGUSTA – Douglas Beaulieu of Madawaska and Sara Gagne Holmes of Augusta have been nominated by Gov. John Baldacci to serve on the Loring Development Authority.
Beaulieu and Gagne Holmes will help in acquiring, managing and developing the remaining vacant land that was once the site of the Loring Air Force base. There is about 1.2 million square feet of building space left unoccupied.
Beaulieu is the county administrator for Aroostook County. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent and the University of New Haven in Connecticut. He has been involved with the Northern Maine Development Commission, the Aroostook Municipal Association and the Local Area Workforce Investment Board.
Gagne Holmes is an associate in the Preti, Flaherty, Beliveau, Pachios and Haley LLC law firm, where she focuses on health care and administrative law. She has served the Maine Supreme Court as a law clerk and is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. Before attending law school, Gagne Holmes owned and operated a small business in Augusta.
