WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has notified U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins that the state will receive more than $1.3 million in grants for health care for HIV and AIDS patients. The money is designated for medical care, support services and prescription drugs for AIDS patients.

“As the HIV-AIDS crisis continues to grow across the nation, and indeed around the world, those who are suffering from this deadly disease need critical support and care,” the senators said in a joint statement.
