NEWPORT NEWS Va. – Christopher Newport Universitiy swept the University of Maine-Presque Isle 16-2 and 8-1 in baseball action Monday.

In the first game, Jayson Basanes hit three doubles to drive in three runs and scored three for Christopher Newport. Garrett Robinson had a double and two singles with a RBI and two runs scored.

Philip Crabbe doubled and singled for UMPI and Brian Morrison added a double.

In the second game, Ricky Allred had two doubles, two RBIs, and scored a run for Christopher Newport and Will Auman tripled.

Morrison hit a pair of singles and had an RBI for UMPI.
