STANDISH – Jennell Carter has been named head field hockey coach at St. Joseph’s College, replacing Carolyn Vail, who resigned in January.

Carter last coached at the New Hampton (N.H.) School, where she guided the team to the first field hockey tournament berth in school history.

A New Hampshire native, Carter earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from Plymouth State College in 2001, and will receive a master’s in community planning and development from the University of Southern Maine in May.
