SAD 48’s biggest enemy is ignorance, because of the communication and informational problems between the citizens. The people of the district need to come together and educate each other about how to finance a school district.
Communication within a community is the key to its people finding common ground on various topics. One of the reasons why I think we are failing is because the communication that is happening is being presented in a non-constructive way. There is a tremendous amount of fabricated rumors passing around that distract the voters and produce negative propaganda. I think the community needs to identify their weaknesses and send out a clear message of each legitimate point of view for each voter to recognize the issues and make a productive contribution to the problem.
As a high school senior from SAD 48 I believe I deserve the same basic educational opportunities as any other kid in the area. I feel like the community is stealing my educational rights. I understand that the opponents to the budget are trying to send a message to the state, but do I not deserve the same education as the student from the next town over?
If I do my part will area citizens do theirs?
