Banknorth Group Inc. in Portland has promoted Diane Jones, an Orono native and graduate of Woodland High School, to assistant vice president in the human resources department. Jones has been with Banknorth since 1994 and has 14 years experience in banking.

Stacey Sparkman has joined the Affiliated Pharmacy Services division of Affiliated Heathcare Systems in Bangor as a front store coordinator. Sparkman will be responsible for all nonprescription retail sales at Affiliated Healthcare’s three retail pharmacy locations.

Andrew W. Kekacs of Bangor has been named director of communications at the Maine Better Transportation Association in Augusta. Kekacs previously worked for the Bangor Daily News and Central Maine Newspapers. He also founded and published Maine Woodsman magazine. The transportation association has 650 member organizations.
