Graves leads Penquis past Schenck

EAST MILLINOCKET – Danielle Graves struck out 10 and didn’t allow an earned run to help lead the Penquis Patriots to a 5-2 high school softball victory over the Schenck Wolverines Friday.

Michelle Mulherin hit a pair of singles for the Patriots of Milo. Erica Morrill singled and drove in a run.

Ashley Peabody had two singles for Schenck.

At Thomaston, Megan Watts gave up only two hits and two walks while striking out seven in the shutout for Georges Valley.

Lacey Stone hit a three-run homer in the second inning and also doubled and singled for the Buccaneers. Rachel Campbell also hit a three-run homer and singled, and Raechel Strong drove in two runs on two singles. Elena Bertocci and Amanda Dinsmore each had two singles and an RBI.

Megan Colsson and Sam Carroll singled for Boothbay.

At East Millinocket, Justin Allen and Jordan Allen combined to give up only two runs, four hits, and one walk while striking out 11 to pace Penquis.

Justin Allen hit a two-run triple for the Patriots of Milo. Robbie Cook singled and scored three runs.

Kyle Pelkey hit an RBI triple for Schenck, and Jesse Cram singled and drove in a run.
