DOVER-FOXCROFT – A presentation of the new Best Management Practices Manual, “Protecting Maine’s Water Quality,” will be given from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 4, at the Abbot Town Office.

The presentation is sponsored by the Maine Forest Service, in conjunction with Plum Creek Timberlands and the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The session is open to foresters, loggers and landowners interested in the principles of Best Management Practices and water resource protection. Some fieldwork will be involved so rubber-bottom boots and field clothing are recommended.

Refreshments will be provided and the cost of the workshop is being sponsored by Plum Creek.

The Maine Forest Service will provide a new BMP manual free of charge to those attending the presentation. Preregistration is recommended. For more information, call 564-2321, Ext. 3.
