Boxer Josh McAuliffe of Bangor defeated five-time Canadian champion Mike Dow 25-24 in a heavyweight match Saturday in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Scores were determined under a point system, one point for each punch landed. The judges must ring in their vote on a punch within a second of it being thrown in order for the punch to count.

Also on the card was Andrea Pardilla of Old Town and McAuliffe’s Boxing, who took on Canadian Annie Mazerole in a light heavyweight bout. Mazerole outpointed Pardilla 22-20.
