Often while reading the letters section of the Bangor Daily News, I appreciate reading the opinions of others that are not necessarily my own as there is something new to learn every day.
Unfortunately, the letter, “Help them meet Allah” (BDN, April 7), by Paul L. Torres of Houlton, went far beyond a differing opinion. It is pure and tasteless racist ranting. Why doesn’t the BDN follow its own editing guidelines and give a platform to more informed and intelligent readers?
