Talent filled the room when students participated in the county-district competition of the Modern Woodmen of America School Speech Contest on April 8. The students were winners of a previous speech contest sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America.

Seventh-grader Amanda Hall of Bangor Christian Schools won a $50 cash award and trophy in the county-district competition. Megan Stewart of Veazie Community School was second-place winner and Luke Edwards of All Saints Catholic School was third-place winner.
