ORONO – Esther Eayres Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met April 5 at the Orono United Methodist Church to honor DAR Good Citizen award recipients Hannah Marquis, Old Town High School; Lura Raymond, Orono High School; and Nancy Hallett, Penobscot Valley High School in Howland.

Also honored was Laila Scholtz-Ames of Exeter, a home-schooled student who was runner-up in the state Christopher Columbus essay contest.

At the meeting, American Field Service exchange students Anne Zeitz of Germany, Ceren Aksu of Turkey and Evelin Banegas of Bolivia, who live in Greater Bangor, shared their impressions and experiences as students in the United States.
