WASHINGTON – Hussey Seating Co. of North Berwick has been awarded a $2.5 million contract to build seating for a new sports arena in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

“This contract is the latest in an impressive series of projects that shows Hussey’s state-of-the-art seating product and technology are the premier choice for top arenas across the United States and the world,” said U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, who helped the Maine firm get the contract.

Under the contract, Hussey will supply around 15,000 seats for the sports arena in Belgrade that originally was constructed in the late 1990s. Since work on the project stopped during the war in Serbia, the arena has stood as a structural shell.
