GUILFORD – Josh Withee pitched a complete-game six-hitter with 10 strikeouts and aided his own cause with a double and a single and an RBI to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to a 6-2 schoolboy baseball win over host Piscataquis Thursday.
Matt Carey laced two doubles and Justin Freeman two singles for Foxcroft. Josh Pelletier added an RBI single.
Joe Jardine doubled and singled for the Pirates while Josh Luellen and Andy Zimmerman each hit an RBI single.

At Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium, Matt Mercer’s two-run triple and Drew Mercier’s two-run double sparked a four-run fourth-inning rally that erased a 7-5 deficit in the nightcap and Searsport added 14 more in the fifth.
Mercer had a two-run homer, two triples and a single and drove in four runs; Mercier had three singles to go with his double and delivered three runs; Caleb Ashley had a triple and two singles and Jared Kronholm had two doubles and four RBIs.
Kyle Pelkey doubled and singled for Schenck.
In the opener, Matt Nickerson fired a one-hitter, striking out 11 and not walking anyone, and Ryan Shute knocked in three runs with a double and two singles to pace a 17-hit attack.
Elijah Braizer and Nick Dakin each had a double, two singles and an RBI; Kronholm had two base hits and three RBIs and Nickerson singled twice and had an RBI.

At the Bangor Christian field, junior righty Melissa Rideout tossed a six-hitter, striking out eight and walking one, as Schenck completed a doubleheader sweep.
Jessica Day’s run-scoring double and RBI singles by Krystal Walsh and Ashley Peabody keyed a four-run first inning that sent the Wolverines on their way in the nightcap.
Jennifer Davis had three singles and an RBI for Schenck while Day had a single to go with her double.
Theresa Cameron had two singles for Searsport.
In the opener, Day had four singles, scored four times and drove in three runs.
Davis, Danielle Thompson and Walsh had two singles and an RBI apiece. Kayla Osborne went the distance for the win.

At Houlton, sophomore righthander Chelsea Collins fired a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 10 Greater Houlton Christian Academy hitters, walking two and inducing five groundouts.
It was Collier’s second career no-hitter.
Christine Lawlor paced Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook’s 15-hit attack with two doubles, two singles, and four runs batted in.
Kaylea Collier drove in three runs with a double and two singles, and Audrey Charette contributed three singles and two RBIs.
