Lee wins behind Boulrisse

LEE – Sophomore Charlie Boulrisse pitched 5 1/3 innings with no earned runs in his first career start as Lee pushed past Dexter 10-5 in a high school baseball game Friday.

Tyler Thompson hit a two-run homer for Lee in the third inning, along with a double in the second. Nate Dow added two singles and four RBIs. Kris King had two more singles for the Pandas.

Eric Day hit three singles for Dexter, and Mark Pullen hit two more. Chris Rabideau doubled and singled.

At East Sullivan, Jason Murchison had two doubles as the Lynx swept past Sumner.

Justin Day posted six strikeouts and one walk for Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Dylan Hanscom and Dustin Hanscom doubled and singled.

A.J. Pennartz doubled and singled for the Tigers.

At Readfield, Ryan Kennedy and Matt Huff combined on a three-hitter and Phil Hendricks had a run-scoring double in a four-run third inning that gave Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield the lead for good.

Jason Hall drove in two runs with a safety squeeze bunt and a single and Marty Quint had two singles and an RBI.

Justin Denbow doubled for Maranacook.

At Bangor, Jake Crosby’s two-run triple and Josh Ireland’s RBI singles spearheaded a five-run fifth-inning rally that erased a 7-4 deficit.

Crosby also had a single and finished with three RBIs for the Howlers of Howland. Ireland had a double to go with his single and had three RBIs, and Nick Ware doubled and singled and scored three runs. Ireland went the distance for the win, allowing seven hits while striking out 11 and walking four.

Justin Phinney and Eric Sobey had RBI singles for Bangor Christian.

At Corinth, Matt Barnett hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to break the 2-2 deadlock and put Stearns ahead.

Ryan Bouchard struck out 10 and singled and doubled. Matt Wark added three singles and Chris Jandreau two more.

Tristan Strout had a single, a triple and an RBI for Central.

At Belfast, Cliff Gardner knocked out a grand slam in the second inning keeping the Mustangs just out of Belfast’s reach.

Steve Miles added two singles.

The Lion’s Josh Gallant had three singles. Brendan Gardner and Colin Kennedy both had two more.

Bucksport sweeps Caribou

At Bucksport, Joey Robicheau ended the Bucks’ second game at 10-0 in the sixth inning with a three-run home run to invoke the 10-run rule. Bucksport won the opener 8-2.

In the first game, Nye Gifford added a home run for Bucksport. Robbie Pushard had a double and two singles while Matt Allison had three singles.

Ryan Cousins had two singles for the Vikings.

In the second game, Robicheau singled three times and collected an RBI. Wade Hopkins had a home run, and Chad Maguire had two singles.

For Caribou, Ryan Rogers posted two singles.

At Bangor, Nancy Hallett’s two-run triple in the fifth inning keyed a five-run rally that enabled Penobscot Valley of Howland to wipe out a 9-7 deficit and take a lead it would never relinquish.

Hallett had two triples, a double and a single, scored five times and plated three; Tiffany Brown tripled and doubled and drove in three runs; Kacy Foster contributed two singles, two RBIs and four runs and Sarah Colbath singled twice.

Jamie Milton went the distance for the win.

Jen Hutchins doubled and singled for Bangor Christian and had two RBIs; Annie Babineau had two singles, an RBI and scored twice and Ami Sargent singled twice. BC’s Megan Mishou struck out 13.

At Lee, Nikki Chapman singled twice and knocked in three runs to lead the Tigers to their second win.

Marci Moors had a single and a double for the Pandas.

Jody Pinkham hit a home run in the second. Katrina Beal had two doubles, while Hollie Stanwood doubled and singled. Kate Rock and Jenay Tucker both hit two singles.

At Guilford, Brittany Davis fashioned a five-hitter, striking out four and walking four, and Robin Rioux broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring single in the fifth.

George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill broke the game open with an eight-run sixth inning.

Christy Moon and Lindsay Smith had two hits apiece for GSA while Teddie Galuski had two singles and an RBI for Piscataquis Community.

At Belfast, freshman Steph Whittier singled and pitched a three-hitter in the Lions win over the Mustangs.

Sam Ellis added three singles and Lauren Overlook had two. Kate Ross had three RBI.

Kristi Clements, Jenny Stevens and Megan Carter each singled for Mount View of Thorndike.
