Veazie police are investigating the reported theft of more than 90 methadone pills stolen Thursday evening.
Officer Michael Adams said that at about 7 p.m. a woman called police saying her newly filled prescription of methadone was taken from her purse while she was at a neighbor’s home in Greystone Trailer Park. The woman had stopped there while on her way to a heroin abuse meeting, Adams said. She went into another room and when she returned, the bottle of pills was missing.
A Veazie woman was injured after a driver from Eddington ran a red light Friday afternoon.
Officer T. J. Warner reported that at about half past noon, a red Honda driven by Heath Comingo, 22, of Eddington went through a red light on State Street and hit a van driven by Muriel LaFountain, 78, of Veazie.
Warner said LaFountain was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center. EMMC staff said she was later released. Comingo was summoned for failing to stop for a red light.
Bangor police arrested a man after he allegedly broke bottles in front of his girlfriend’s house Thursday night.
Officer Chris Desmond reported that at about 9:20 p.m. he went to a Deer Isle Road address where a man was throwing bottles into the road during a dispute with his girlfriend.
Desmond saw broken glass on the driveway when he arrived. He spoke with Ronald Long, 38, of Bangor, who denied breaking the bottles. He said he hadn’t been outside in four days.
Desmond spoke with witnesses who said they saw Long smashing bottles that appeared to have come from the kitchen. The bottles included sweet and sour sauce, beer and other condiment containers.
Though Long continued to say he hadn’t been outside, Desmond observed grass stains and glass fragments on Long’s shoes.
Long’s girlfriend said the bottles were hers. Long was arrested and charged with criminal mischief.
