HARRINGTON – Nick Wood slammed a two-run home run in the eighth inning to help lift the Washington Academy Raiders to an 8-5 high school baseball victory over the Narraguagus Knights Tuesday.
James Ramsdell contributed an RBI single in the decisive eighth and Steven Colbeth doubled.
Colbeth also cranked a solo homer in the fifth.
Jason Strout and Matt Burgess each had RBI singles for the Knights. Saben Rossi doubled.
Narraguagus pitcher Corey Worcester had 14 strikeouts with no walks in the loss.

At Winslow, Taylor Helberg pitched a four-hitter and Eric Lopez drove home a pair of runs as the Winslow Black Raiders edged Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.
The game was halted by rain and lightning in the bottom of the fifth.
Lopez plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then singled home a run and scored on Corey Martin’s single to highlight a three-run rally in the bottom of the third.
The Black Raiders also turned two double plays, one on a nice play by second baseman Peter Lee in the third.
Jason Hall had an RBI single for MCI of Pittsfield, while Andrew DeBerthune plated a run with a fielder’s choice.

At Caribou, Brian St. Peter had two doubles and two RBIs in the Vikings’ win over Presque Isle.

Tim Morrison knocked in both Wildcat runs with two singles.

At Ashland, Kevin Baker had a pinch-hit, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to end the game under the 10- run rule.
Spencer Parry added a triple, double and single with two RBIs. Matt Saucier had a double, single and two RBIs. Chris Long and Daren Hunter each had two singles for the Hornets.
Dustin Cyr, Chris Gagnon and Dan Rossignol each had two singles to pace the Crusaders. Jeremy Chasse tripled.

At Limestone on Monday, Jeremy Chasse had four singles and a double to lead Van Buren to a season-opening win.
Trevor Hews added three singles for the Crusaders, who broke the game open with 10 runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning.
Andrew Taylor earned the pitching win with relief help from Chasse.

At South China, Belfast’s Steph Whittier doubled over the left fielder’s head in the sixth inning, bringing in Lauren Overlock to break a scoreless tie.
Whittier then scored on an error with what proved to be the winning run. She pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks for the Lions.
Kate Ross doubled and Nicole Hubbard had an RBI single.
Kristen Burk had all three of the Eagles’ hits, two singles and a double.

Ashley Filimonow had a single and double with an RBI for Caribou, while Makayla Gahagan singled twice with an RBI.
