St. Peter, Cousins lead Caribou past Wildcats

CARIBOU – Brian St. Peter had two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Caribou Vikings to a 4-2 baseball victory over Presque Isle on Tuesday.

Ryan Cousins added a double and an RBI for the Vikings. Anthony Ouellette had two singles.

Tim Morrison knocked in both Wildcat runs with two singles.

At Ashland, Kevin Baker had a pinch-hit, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to end the game under the 10- run rule.

Spencer Parry added a triple, double and single with two RBIs. Matt Saucier had a double, single and two RBIs. Chris Long and Daren Hunter each had two singles for the Hornets.

Dustin Cyr, Chris Gagnon and Dan Rossignol each had two singles to pace the Crusaders. Jeremy Chasse tripled.

At Limestone on Monday, Jeremy Chasse had four singles and a double to lead Van Buren to a season-opening win.

Trevor Hews added three singles for the Crusaders, who broke the game open with 10 runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning.

Andrew Taylor earned the pitching win with relief help from Chasse.

At Hodgdon, Evan Boutlier had a single and two RBIs as the Warriors took the win.

Evan McGary had a triple and an RBI for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.

Matt Hovey of the Hawks had a hit to deep center in the sixth inning.

At Harrington, Steven Colbeth hit a solo home run in the fifth along with a leadoff double in the top of the eighth to push the Raiders to the win.

Nick Wood had a two-run home run in the decisive eighth inning and James Ramsdell contributed an RBI single.

Jason Strout and Matt Burgess each had RBI singles for the Knights. Saben Rossi doubled.

Narraguagus pitcher Corey Worcester had 14 strikeouts with no walks in the loss.

At Caribou, Danielle Dyer singled twice and drove home four runs as the Wildcats earned the five-inning win.

Hillary Harvey added a double and single with two RBIs, while Katie Delong singled twice with two RBIs and three runs scored. Kylie Pelletier also drove in two runs with two singles.

Ashley Filimonow had a single and double with an RBI for Caribou, while Makayla Gahagan singled twice with an RBI.

At Hodgdon, Audrey Charette doubled and singled as Southern Aroostook improved to 3-0 on the season.

McKenzie Hardy, Jordan Sholler and Amanda Charette each added two singles for the Warriors of Dyer Brook.

Erin Foster led Hodgdon with a triple, double and two singles. Amanda Fitzpatrick, Samantha Williams and Jolene Ledger had two singles apiece.

At Ashland, Pam Spooner threw a five-inning three-hitter, with eight strikeouts and two walks, and Ashley Nemer paced a 14-hit attack with a triple, double and single good for four RBIs.

Nemer’s two-run double keyed a four-run third inning that snapped a scoreless tie.

Spooner had two singles and two RBIs, Amber Smith had two singles and Lindsey Long contributed an RBI triple.

Lisa Levasseur, Casey Caron and Darcy St. Pierre had singles for Van Buren.

At South China, Belfast’s Steph Whittier doubled over the left fielder’s head in the sixth inning, bringing in Lauren Overlock to break a scoreless tie.

Whittier then scored on an error with what proved to be the winning run. She pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks for the Lions.

Kate Ross doubled and Nicole Hubbard had an RBI single.

Kristen Burk had all three of the Eagles’ hits, two singles and a double.
