AUGUSTA – Military personnel returning home to Maine will have an easier transition to civilian life under a bill ceremonially signed Wednesday by Gov. John Baldacci.

The new law will authorize state agencies and licensing boards to waive continuing education requirements for military personnel who hold professional or occupational licenses.

An intended effect is to ensure that no one on active duty loses a license because they were unable to comply with continuing education requirements.
