ORONO – Arcady Music Festival Director Masanobu Ikemiya will be the guest pianist at the Robinson Ballet Company’s 15th annual Spring Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1, at the University of Maine’s Hauck Auditorium.
Ikemiya will play Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” for Maureen Lynch’s solo dance, choreographed by Laren Lynn, and then play Scott Joplin’s “Easy Winners” when Stephanie Dunham and Nathan Bond take the stage.
Other performers include Terry Lacy of New York City presenting “Do You Wanna Dance?” set to Ravel’s “Bolero;” Keith Robinson performing “Subterraneans,” set to music composed by Phillip Glass; and Maureen Lynch dancing “Jeux D’Enfants” and “Flow… Ebb and Flow.”
Stephanie Dunham will choreograph “Za Za Ru,” a fusion of modern, jazz and hip-hop dance intertwined to the ecliptic style of Cirque de Soleil’s “Dralion.”
Jesse Dunham will perform in “Za Za Ru,” “Do You Wanna Dance?” “Subterraneans” and “Flow… Ebb and Flow.”
Tickets are $14, $10 for seniors, $8 for students under 18, and are available at The Grasshopper Shop in Bangor, Dr. Records in Orono, River City Dance Center in Bangor or by calling the Robinson Ballet, 989-7226.
