MOUNT DESERT – Nick Swanson’s two-run single highlighted a four-run sixth inning gave that gave the Mount Desert Island Trojans an 8-7 baseball win over George Stevens Academy Wednesday.

At Deer Isle, three runs on two hits in the fifth inning helped break the game open for the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners as they kept Sumner of East Sullivan winless.
Terrance O’Dell had the only RBI hit (single) for the Mariners, who scored three in the fifth on two singles, a stolen base, a balk, a walk, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly. Nick Ciomei struck out nine batters and walked four while throwing a five-hitter.
