HAMPDEN – The Maine Department of Transportation has awarded a contract for $2,662,859 to start work on Route 202 and Route 1A in Hampden, Newburgh and Dixmont to Lane Construction Corp. of Bangor.

Work will be done on Route 202 beginning at Route 7 and extending north 10.87 miles. Other work on Route 202 will begin 0.2 mile west of Canaan Road and extend east 2.94 miles. Work on Route 1A will begin at the Winterport town line and extend north 0.975 mile.

The work will include hot mix asphalt overlay, cold in-place recycling asphalt pavement, drainage, safety improvement and other incidental work.
