BAR HARBOR – The Town Council will hold its yearly organizational meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, followed by the annual town meeting at 7 p.m.

The council will meet in council chambers at the municipal building. The annual town meeting will be held in the adjacent auditorium.

Councilors will be sworn into office, including the two who win election today. Incumbents David Bowden and Valerie Scott are seeking re-election against challenger Bruce Foss.

The council will elect a chairman, vice chairman and secretary for the coming year.

The board also will take up proposed changes to the town’s parking and traffic ordinance and consider signing a special town meeting warrant for June 22 to ask voters for emergency financing to repair the town beach retaining wall.
