Maine State Police and the Penobscot Nation Police Department are searching for a 13-year-old girl who they believe was taken from a foster home Friday night or Saturday morning by her father.
Detective Bob Bryant with the Penobscot Nation said Amanda Francis, 13, was reported missing from her foster home in Brewer on Saturday. She had been living there for approximately two weeks.
State police believe the pair may be headed for Delaware, most likely in a 1990 red Mazda Protege with Maine license plate No. 7643LK.
Amanda Francis is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds and has hazel eyes and shoulder-length blond hair. Police believe she is with her father, 45-year-old Bert Francis, who is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 250 pounds, and has brown shoulder-length hair, probably in a ponytail, police said. Bert Francis also has a mustache and small goatee.
Anyone with information on the location of either Amanda or Bert Francis, or the 1990 red Mazda Protege, should contact Maine State Police in Orono at 1-800-432-7381 or 866-2122.
