LIMESTONE – The Limestone softball team rallied in the sixth inning thanks to five hits and four walks, picking up a 8-5 victory over Southern Aroostook Monday in high school action.
Allison Beaton’s triple triggered the uprising. Megan Pelletier singled her home and, a walk later, Lindsey Beaulieu’s two-run triple tied it. Vicki Mulherin and Ella Coffren later hit RBI singles. Another walk forced in the final run.
Amanda Clark’s double, two singles and RBI led Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook and MacKenzie Hardy had a run-scoring double.

At Washburn, pitcher Amanda Livesey tripled, singled twice and drove in three runs to power the Eagles.
Esther Lee added four more RBIs, Megan Korhonen had two and Katie Thompson had one. Lacey Forran added a double.
Amber Palmer had six RBIs with a double and a three-run home run for the Beavers. Heidi Goodine went 5-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs. Casey Maynard added two RBIs and sister Liza Maynard had one. Stephanie Burtt finished with an RBI and a double.

At Ashland, Angela Belskis’ one-out single down the left- field line scored Amber Smith with the winning run as the Hornets squeezed by Katahdin of Stacyville.
After a wild pitch moved runners to second and third, Amber Smith hit a two-run single to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. Lindsay Long (two singles, two RBIs) singled after a strikeout to set up Belskis. Smith had two singles and four RBIs.
Brandy Violette had four singles and three RBIs for the Cougars. Shelly Martin had a triple, single and RBI. Lindsay Albert doubled and singled.

At Jonesport, Steph Penney hurled a three-hitter over five innings and aided her own cause with two homers, a double and three RBIs as the Blue Devils rolled.
Jessica Whittaker had three singles, Emily Wilkinson doubled and Jamie Doliber had a single and three RBIs for the winners.
Sarah and Tina Beal and Rachel Church had singles for the Royalettes.

At Machias, freshman Stephanie Whitman’s two-run single capped a seven-run fifth inning that erased an 11-6 deficit and gave Machias a win in a rain-shortened game.
Katie Stevens, Whitney Baker and Lindsay Marshall had run-scoring singles for Machias.
Alisa Tenney doubled and singled and drove in three runs for Narraguagus of Harrington and Elise Dublin contributed two singles and two RBIs.

At Hampden, Stephanie Schuster had two singles and an RBI to lead the Trojans past the Broncos.
Nia Megquier struck out six, walked four and allowed seven hits. Jenna Shue had three singles and two RBIs for Hampden. Evon Hudspeth added a run-scoring single.
Erika Veinote pitched a three-hitter for Hampden, striking out seven and walking six.

At Jonesport, Scott Geel had three doubles and two RBIs to help lead the Calais Blue Devils past Jonesport-Beals.
Ricky Price had a double and two singles for the Devils while Nick Reynolds added a two-run double. Russ McLean notched the win after taking the mound in relief in the first.
Martin Martinelli had two singles, a double and one RBI for the Royals. Abraham Beal had two doubles and two RBIs.

Jason Huntley allowed four hits and two earned runs over 6 2/3 innings before Dan MacLean came on to get the final out with runners on first and third. Blaine Meehan had two singles for Hampden.
