Emily Kirkland, Avery McGill

Junior Emily Kirkland and senior Avery McGill of the University of Southern Maine were named to the All-Little East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Team as voted by the league’s head coaches. McGill, a four-year captain, was named to the first team after serving as the Huskies’ defensive leader. Kirkland was a second-team choice, finishing as the team’s top scorer with 16 goals and nine assists.

Colby College in Waterville announced numerous award recipients recently at its Colby College Senior Awards event. Ellsworth “Bill” Millett Award: Eric Roy, Karima Ummah; Marjorie D. Bither Award: Abbey Stella (volleyball); Donald P. Lake Award: Ross MacMillan (hockey), Jeremy Jamieson (football); Pamela Hoyt-Sanborn Award: Carolyn Plant (swimming); Norman White Award: Matt Forlizzi (baseball); Patty Valavanis Smith Trophy: Laura Mistretta (crew); Warren J. Finegan Award: Ryan Glennon; Carl E. Nelson Sports Achievement Award: Boyd Sands (Class of 1959)
