Thibeault’s 3-hitter guides Pioneers to win

ST. AGATHA – Randy Thibeault pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts and seven walks to lead the host Wisdom Pioneers to a 5-4 softball win over Limestone-MSSM Thursday.

Jason Fontaine had a triple, a single, and two RBIs for Wisdom. Kenny Suitter doubled.

Brandon Cyr and Justin Paradis each had a single and two RBIs for the Eagles.

At Presque Isle Wednesday night, pitchers Carl Gagnon, Danny Michaud and Chad Lavway held the Shiretowners to one hit to lead the Wildcats.

Jeff Cole paced the PI offense with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Lavway also added two singles and a double. Matt McGlinn chipped in with a two-run double and Tim Lyford singled twice.

Houlton’s Jordan Hill hit a two-run double in the fifth.

At Orono, Pete Wentworth drove in two runs with four singles and Chris Maguire pitched a 3-hitter for the Bucks.

Maguire also had three singles while Nye Gifford had two doubles, a single, and two RBIs. Matt Allison had a double, a single and two RBIs.

Dusty Thomas doubled for the Red Riots while Dylan Huckestein had an RBI single.

At East Machias, sophomore lefty Collin Henry threw a two-hitter, striking out nine and walking three, and Will Rosenthal’s run-scoring double in the four-run fourth helped break open a close game.

Phinneas Peake doubled and singled and had an RBI for Blue Hill’s George Stevens Academy and Blake Wessel and Harrison Hines had two singles each.

At Mount Desert, Blaine Meehan, Pat Moran and Keilechi Sugesawa collected two RBIs apiece as Hampden Academy beat Mount Desert Island.

Meehan ended with three singles, while Moran and Sugesawa each had two.

Kyle Shea doubled and Brad Staples had an RBI single for the Trojans.

At Belfast, Tony Gilmore’s two-run double and Brendan Gardner’s run-scoring single keyed a four-run third inning that helped Belfast to the win.

Nick Arthers had a solo homer and three singles for the winners, Gilmore had a pair of doubles and Paul Herman had two singles.

Ian Doherty, Caleb Peats and Noah Burke each doubled and singled for Camden Hills.

At Ellsworth, Jeff Burditt hit a two-run double in the fourth to spark the Tigers to the come-back win.

Andy Allen singled twice for the visitors and drove in one run. Kyle Joy pitched a two hitter.

Andy Berry had two singles and an RBI for the Eagles.

At Dexter, Kyle Stone drove in three runs on two doubles and a single as the Tigers rolled over the Patriots.

Brandon Woodman and Chris Rabideau each had two RBIs. Woodman had a single and a double while Rabideau singled twice. Mike Martin had two singles and an RBI.

Aaron Wilson hit a two-run single for Bangor Christian. Steve Blake added an RBI double, Justin Phinney had a double and a single, and Tory Dearborn singled twice.

Greenville, Forest Hills split

At Greenville, Forest Hills won the first game 10-0 and Greenville rebounded with a 13-3 win in the second.

In the first game, Roger Paradise struck out seven and walked nobody while pitching a one-hitter for Forest Hills. He also had two singles and three RBIs. Dustin Allen added a two-run triple.

Dan Gaucher’s single in the second inning was Greenville’s only hit.

In the second game, Corey Woodbury notched a complete-game win and had an RBI double for the Lakers. Eric Driscoll had two singles and two RBIs.

Paradise paced Forest Hills with two singles.

At Van Buren Wednesday, Britanny Guiou belted three-run homers in both the first and sixth innings to power the visiting Tigers past Van Buren.

Melissa Bubar and Dani Searles each doubled and singled for the Tigers.

Amy Vaillancourt hit two singles and Casey Caron doubled for the Crusaders.

Lindsey Stewart had an RBI single for the Hawks.

At Fort Fairfield, Brittany Guiou and Brittany Strout combined to pitch a one-hitter and lead the Tigers by the Owls.

Ellie Arato had a double, two singles, and three RBIs for Fort Fairfield. Sister Ruthie Arato had two singles and one RBI. Jen Wortman had a double and three RBIs.

Andrea Cyr’s one-out single in the fifth broke up the no-hit bid.

Michelle Bourgoin doubled and singled for the Pioneers. Kayla Daigle had two singles.

At Orono, Kristi Allen threw a one-hitter while notching eight strikeouts and no walks for the Golden Bucks.

Stacy Scott’s single was the only hit for the Red Riots.

At Millinocket, Dayna Somers had four singles and an RBI to lead the Stearns Minutemen to victory.

Shannon Pietras had two singles and an RBI while Arikka Knights singled twice for Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.
